La Licenciatura en Gráficos en Movimiento y Diseño Web, tiene por objeto satisfacer la necesidad en nuestra sociedad de profesionistas especializados en la creación digital de gráficos que se puedan animar de acuerdo al medio de entrega de que se trate: Internet, televisión, CD, DVD o cine y del tipo de gráfico de que se trate: personajes animados, gráficos geométricos, partículas, texturas, tipografía en movimiento, líquidos, gases, objetos sólidos, mundos virtuales, etc.

Nuestro egresado también será capaz sonorizar las secuencias de gráficos en movimiento y aplicarles efectos de sonido especiales.

La carrera de Animación en 2D y 3D al igual que el Diplomado —con duración de un año—, las hemos estado ofertando como parte de nuestra Licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico, Multimedia y Animación desde el año de 1998, lo que nos ha brindado la oportunidad de obtener una valiosa experiencia en esta especialización de los gráficos en movimiento.

Un factor importante al ingresar a estudiar una carrera en Animación, es ver qué trabajos de comerciales en TV, animaciones, cortometrajes, etc., se han realizado en la institución a la cual se quiere ingresar. Diplomado en Arte

Pictórico Digital

Este es el primer Diplomado en México que introduce al estudiante a las técnicas del Arte Pictórico Digital e impresión digital y técnicas tradicionales..

Está apoyado principalmente en dos herramientas digitales: Corel Painter Photoshop. Además, como unión entre el artista y la computadora se utilizará la tableta digitalizadora.

Como salida del trabajo creativo se verán técnicas de impresión digitales combinadas con materiales tradicionales.

El Diplomado está dirigido a artistas, ilustradores, fotógrafos y diseñadores de todos niveles, que deseen incursionar en el poder creativo del arte pictórico digital. Cada artista irá desarrollando su propio estilo ya que las posibilidades digitales son muy versátiles.

El desarrollo artístico moderno ha venido a incorporar las tabletas digitalizadoras que permiten expresar su creatividad tomando en cuenta modelos reales. De esta forma, dentro del programa del Diplomado se contempla el aprendizaje del uso de la tableta digitalizadora. Esta herramienta le permite escoger el tipo de pincel, carboncillo, lápiz o boquilla de aerógrafo que mejor se adapte a su proceso creativo, pudiendo cambiar la dureza del lápiz o pincel, el tipo de cerdas, la orientación e inclinación de la boquilla, la espesura del material pictórico, etc

Cada grupo será de un máximo de 9 personas o menos (idealmente 6).

Degree in Linguistics, Interpretation and Screen Translation

Licenciatura en Lingüística, Interpretación y Traducción Audiovisual

Main aims :

1. Learning four languages.

2. Learning their teaching techniques.

3. Translation of texts.

4. Translation of documents including graphics (mirror translation).

5. Consecutive and simultaneous interpretation.

6. Movies subtitling and dubbing.

7. Spanish and English language mastery required.

This program will familiarize you with the linguistic, cultural and technical challenges of screen translation, dubbing subtitling and mirror translation that answers the growing demand across the visual media for highly-qualified linguists capable of subtitling for foreign-language viewers or for the hard of hearing.

We will explore the following languages: English, Spanish, French, German and (optional) Japanese to see how they are applied in Screen Translation and mirror translation.

Until quite recently, translation studies tended to concentrate on difficulties associated with the translation of the written word, whether in a technical or literary context, and the translation of the spoken word, in the form of either consecutive or simultaneous interpreting. Because of the amazingly powerful role we know TV, film and video viewing plays in modern society screen translation (traducción audiovisual) and screen translators are in great demand. Screen translation is generally taken to mean dubbing and/or subtitling but there are other forms of language transfer or versioning currently used by the audiovisual industry, many of which are cheaper and less complicated, e.g. free commentary, narration, voice-over, captioning. Any one of these methods may be used in certain cases on its own or two or more may be combined. Dubbing is more costly than subtitling because it takes more time, more people and requires translators with histrionic abilities.

Mirror translation reflects the ability to translate any document while maintaining the original the format elements (pictures, graphs, tables, color). This requires some graphics design, proficiency in languages and linguistics expertise.

Communication in this age of globalization is increasingly multilingual and multimodal. Websites and DVDs are becoming a favored means for public services, entertainment providers, educational institutions and corporate institutions to reach their shareholders internationally.

The ability to not only translate and interpret, but also write, edit and summarize speeches and texts in English as a second language is also growing in importance. The “Licenciatura” Degree (for domestic applicants) or MA (for foreign students) in Linguistics, Interpretation and Screen Translation Studies provides students with all these skills, preparing them for a wide range of careers where creating and processing information in one or more languages plays a significant role.

The course aims to introduce students to the audiovisual medium of screen translation and it is designed to meet the huge increase in demand for screen translation in the media industry due to the acceleration of technological progress. This can be seen for example in the development of products like the DVD, which has a format with the capacity to hold up to eight dubbed versions and thirty two subtitled versions of a film.

The program will include modules on three areas: Digital Technology, Linguistics and

Modern Languages.
